Major differences between n/a 3.6 in 02+ 996 and 02+ 996 turbo?

I searched breifly, but is there a website that possibly outlines the differences in these engines? Are the piston and rod kits available from tuners like EVOMS and Vivid racing capable of being installed in these n/a variants? What about the cylinder heads and cams? Obviously the compression is much higher on the n/a unit, but is that due to piston design or head design? Port differences?

And lastly, are the transmissions the same? (i know the n/a variants to not include a rear LSD).

Thanks

The only similarities are that they are both six cylinders, 3.6l and horizontally opposed. That is the only similarities. Completely different. The turbo and gt3 engines is closer to older aircooled engines with water jackets and the 3.6 liter carrera engine is completly new engine designed in a joint effort with the Japanese.

No, the N/A is not based off the Metzger motor. The Turbo is, as well as the GT3. They are two very different engines.

Yes very different engines. I've owned both. To put it simply, The mezger engine is basically better in every single way than the n/a engine.
