The new Blue Devil Vette might make a lot of other high-end sports cars nervous...
That car will be crazy. Talking about takign a Porsche and modifying it is stupid. You can still mod the chevy, not to mention you will need to do ALOT of mods to beat a 600hp, 2900pd car. This is not a crack at Porsche owners, but everyone including Lambo, Viper, Ferrari, Ford GT owners etc.
I hate Vettes, but this Vette will be silly fast.

Chad,
The new Z06 has a 7.0 L V8 and I believe the regular C6 is now a 6.0 L.

), no, but it would sure be a fun car to have for the track. I just want to see what Dodge has in plan to retaliate against the New Z06 and Blue Devil.
I think all the sports/exotic cars right now, should concentrate on making their cars lighter. Look at the Chevy! navigation, power seats, power windows, power locks, a/c all the creature comforts and 2900LB's, that is impressive!

Chad,
Not to get picky, and although the 67 427 was/is a bad ride, if I'm not mistaken, the only year for the split window was 63. Did you have a special, one-off car (or one a just a few that people don't know about)?

I stand corrected.
It was a 63' that I had in 67'.

I'm not 100% on the C6 styling but they have been making steps in the right direction over the past 10 years. Comparing cars with mods vs. cars stock doesn't make too much sense. Give me the stock one with the warranty every day. That being said no Vette will have the status of a Porsche ever but there's no denying they are fast, competant cars for a fraction of the price of exotics.
This just in:
Some specs/features revealed:
The Blue Devil will have the following as options or standard equipment:
600hp 7.0L V8
Active suspension
Built in shaver for your chest hair;
Vacuum to remove shaved chest hair;
A built in pump that disperses hair volumizer;
A jewelry cleaning tub/receptacle for your medallions/gold chains;
A handy pocket in the center console to hold both the activator/catalyst bottles of your Rogaine;
Black Corvette-logo'd jacket a la George Barris style = standard
Corvette sunglasses = standard
Standard CD is the "How to get rid of a New York accent", Navigation CD with pre-programmed POI's of strip clubs is an option.
Bad jokes aside, we can pontificate about this all day long...for me, a Vette will NEVER overcome the negative connotations and surpass the stereotypes.
Perhaps GM should spend its' money in this arena (enhancing the image) than updating the car, especially when you consider the Z06's already stellar performance numbers.
And for $100K+, I'd much rather own a Porsche anything than a Corvette.
