996TT vs 302 Boss?
#16
Exactly. Cant you get a stock Shelby with 750hp?

A Boss 302 might be able to beat a 997TT S if the guy driving the TT started in the wrong gear. From 30 mph, the 911 would need to be in 1st (which is good for 47mph). If he started in second with the added weight of a convertible, it might have been close.
I'm just giving the guy the benefit of the doubt.

It seems hard to believe, but just to get it straight, the Boss is 3620lbs wet, and 444hp.
They are not a pushover, but from a dig, the awd should have the advantage. I bet it's a heck of a race with a stock 997tt, and a 996tt with something minor done. A 996tt with good mods should have him covered everywhere though.
The funny thing is that these are meant to be N/A track screamers, and yet a bunch of the ones went straight to FI since it's all forged internals. Those ones will catch guys off guard for sure. 650whp isn't that uncommon.

That's the truth, with not a huge $$ investment Stangs can be some absolute monsters on the street and now with the Boss model it's very quick around a track. Have a friend with a street driven 1k+ whp '03 Cobra that runs deep into the 9s on street tires and will put a hurting on the majority of big power cars out there. Have done a number of highway pulls against him and most of the time it's pretty damn close. Pretty excited to see over the next few years to see what people are gonna be doing with the new GT500s. It's crazy to me to see a stock mustang with 662 hp being sold fresh off the showroom floor.

Wow, never would have thought the drag/street race guys would buy a boss just to get the forged internals, but it's really smart.
Beware of Mustangs that go wwwwhhhhhhooooooossssshhhhh!!!!!

I've never been a fan of the Mustang but I came across this last night and it really surprised me as far as "bang for the buck."

Whoever is selling that car is smoking crack. You can get the brand new 2013 GT500 with 662 hp with a WARRANTY straight from Ford starting at 54k. This one is only 668 hp, used and likely voided warranty. PASS!!
But yes, bang for the buck, doesn't get any better than the 2013. A friend of mine in a cammed Z06 with tune exhaust (making~ 600 whp) was completely in shock how close a stock 2013 kept up with him

You should have no problem. I think the mags have the 2012 Boss running around low 12s.
Earlier this year I ran a 2011 GT500 from a roll and pulled about a car on him when we quit. I only have an exhaust. FWIW.

At Laguna with the AMG school in an SLS with an instructor's car in front making sure I didn't kill myself (or mostly like the car), I beat the fastest Boss 302 lap time set by a professional driver. My first time driving Laguna after about 10 practice laps. Based on that I don't think the Boss 302 is that quick.
