996TT vs 302 Boss?
Guys,
OK - hopefully not an idiot post here. I have a bud that just bought a 2012 BOSS 302 Mustang - with the "track key". He wants to run my car next weekend - to which I am happy to oblige.
He claims that he "blew away" a 997 Turbo S Cabrio the other day on the highway - 30 MPH to 155 before the Turbo he beat quit several car lengths back.
In looking at the numbers - the BOSS is impressive - but I wouldn't think it could beat a 997 turbo s. Any thoughts how I will perform against it? 996 TT with EPL Tune, SpeedTech Exhaust w 100 Cel cats, diverter valves, ssk, and x73 suspension.

I think the person in the 997 Turbo S needs a driver mod... The boss is a great car for the $$ but in a highway pull situation it shouldn't have a chance unless it had some pretty decent mods done but that doesn't seem the case. Like the others have said, you should be able to walk away from him with relative ease on a highway pull.

A co-worker of mine who did a few years in Grand Am GT racing has a stock Boss. I walk him every time from a dig, but from a roll it's neck and neck. I am bone stock, power-wise. Those motors are highly underrated, and the gearing is super short. They're great cars.
boss is a really nice car though and performs very well, it has a very european feel to it, ive had a few thousand miles driving my friends boss driving to tail of the dragon and i was really surprised at how much i liked it, and i generally hate american cars
Good know
Very interesting and good to know. I use to own three vettes and a mustang. There was a time in my life that if anyone said something negative about an American car a fight would break out. Those days are long over. Once I switched, there has been no looking back. American cars have come a long way but in my opinion will never match the overall build of a European car.
