Brake duct snagged
Brake duct snagged
Today I noticed a really strange rubbing noise coming from the right rear wheel while I was on the freeway. When I got home and jacked the side of my car up, I noticed that my right rear brake duct (Atleast I think this is what it is?) was cracked and hanging down, rubbing on my rim...
I suppose a speed bump snagged it?
Has anyone else had this problem? My car is probably very similar height to an OEM gt2, but I think it is slightly lower, due to the H&R coil overs.
Heres the part number that it has on it: "996.331.424.90"
Anyone know a good place to order a new one? I've googled the part number and nothing comes up.

Yeah it must be somewhat common, the bracket is a flimsy metal...
Just found them sold as a pair from vivid:
Pretty expensive for some plastic...

I have heard this is very common on GT2's, and no big deal. Tischer Porsche in Maryland might be a good place to order from. That's where my shop usually starts.

Yes, the rear brake duct it is a GT2 part and does not come on the 996tt. However, they are a direct drop in to the TT without any modification. The only thing you have to do is to trim the metal heat shield so that air can actually get to the rotor. Same applies to the 996GT2 Cup car front brake ducts except they do tie in better to the GT2 front fender liners than the TT units.
