Craig,

Congrats I can't wait until I finally have my car in my garage to be used on a daily basis! It will seem like a new car because it has been about 2 years since I really had it around for any length of time. Between the upgrade, the shootout, my rehab, trying to sell it, upgrading the internals, etc... I can't wait to just drive it like I use to!

Enjoy!

Craig, your car looks mean and badass. Is the front bumper made of carbon or fiberglass? TIA.

Congratulations Craig. It looks awsome.

Is there a special reason on why you're not going with a tried exhaust? Seems to be plenty around so why go with a custom setup at all?

My local exhaust expert, who specializes in exhausts for race cars and manufactured my racing pipes (which work amazingly well), is adament that he can markedly increase performance (power and spooling) with a custom exhaust. It is undeniable that straight through mufflers are less restrictive than chamber mufflers, thereby resulting in increased power and reduced lag. Race cars that are required to use a muffler (certain classes require mufflers) use straight through mufflers, as opposed to chamber mufflers. So why then do most after-market exhaust manufacturers use inferior chamber muffers? Chamber mufflers remove more sound, whereas straight through mufflers are louder. Most after-market exhaust manufacturers sacrifice performance for sound.

Go to Borla's website and check out their racing mufflers: http://www.borla.com/products/xr-1_racing_exhaust.aspx -- they are all straight through mufflers -- not one chamber muffler.

Go to Magnaflow's website and check out their racing muffers: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/02race.asp -- they are all straight through mufflers -- not one chamber muffler.

Burns Strainless racing mufflers: http://www.borla.com/products/xr-1_racing_exhaust.aspx -- straight through.

Etc. etc. etc.

Straight through mufflers are one step removed from straight pipes. Chamber mufflers are a different animal.

Thanks for the reply Craig. Can't wait for the dyno figures.
