michaelmm is infamous around these parts
What is an excessive DME for a 997 Turbo?

I am looking at an 07 Turbo that has unusual DME readings:
Range 1-17649
Range 2-2954
Range 3-562
Range 4-309
Range 5-44
Range 6-0
Are these numbers something to be concerned about for engine wear, resale value?,or for extended warranties?
Thanks for your input!

IMHO, it is a car that has been driven hard but has not had anything done to it that it can not take. Is it a stock car????

The type 5 and 6 readings are the ones that most people get gun shy with. If it is stock non modded car the range 5 stuff if likely from a high RPM woops when up shifting or a hard down shift.

The this type of DME record can hurt resale because some people want a really gently used car. IMHO this is nothing to be scared off with if it is a real clean car and everything else checks out.

I'm with engine guys comment
But I would also look at engine hours to see when the last over rev was.
If the last over rev was within the last hour I would be more concerned than
it it were ten or twenty hours ago.
