I use OEM oval tips with my 3" catless X-flow system. Great option for those that do not want the "raw" look you are referring to.

i did the same thing with my gmg 3" exhaust. the small issue is you have to neck down the system which robs power. with the speedtech being a first class system a 3" oem look would be the best of both worlds

Quote: john lone dissenter here. i had that style and the drone was insane. 4" slash tips. and looked way to raw for a porsche. what about a set of oem style in 3"? its so hard to find decent tips with the odd cutout of the bumper. any thoughts on trimming the bumper to a better shape and trim it in stainless?
Steve, That was probably a 3" system going right into a 4" slant tip - that will act like a huge megaphone and drive the drone level through the roof. I have a lot of experience eliminating drone and I designed the entry of the exhaust pipe into the tip in such a way to minimze the drone. I won't know for sure until we test, but I am pretty sure I have come up with a way to have the wide angle look with out the drone associated with the typical versions of this tip style...I have a good feeling about these.

As for the raw look - I like it, but we have many tip options for this system - from re-using the OEM tips to twin tips, single tips (with rolled edge or slash cut edge) and now the new wide angle tips, so there is something for most people...we also ceramic coat all tip styles for even more variety.

Thanks, JS, I really appreciate the offer, but sound testing is something we have to do ourselves, so we can become familiar with our products. It won't be long now...

HI,It seemed that I could only Open/Stretch by tips ID to only alittle over 2.5'' diameter to fit my opened up Milltek tail pipes..
So,If I may ask , did you stretch them even more?? Or put a coupler pipe on? Thanks..

I've been reading lately that this style of tip does increase levels of drone, so am quite curious about that myself (if it's true or not). Thoughts?

Steve, I would agree and what you have read is correct. However, our new wide angle tip design is very unique and different than anything I am aware of...although it appears identical to the other wide angle tips on the market, the piping entry and flow is like no other and is specifically designed in a manner to eliminate drone. I have not had a chance to road test the tips yet, but at idle and with parked throttle blipping, I feel we have achieved our goal or at least come very close...

One thing we always do when we design a SpeedTech exhaust component is analyze the drone aspect and work creatively to reduce drone as much as possible.
