Due to popular request, we have designed a large wide-angle cut tip for our Porsche 996TT exhaust. Below is a picture of a prototype and test fit. The tip will obviously be refined before actual production begins, but this does provide a good simulation of the final production version for those that have been waiting for pictures and for this tip to be produced.

These tips will fit all existing 2.5 and 3.0 996TT X-cellerator systems.

New systems can be ordered with these tips now!

 

I like how these fit the bumper cutouts better. Are these still tip within a tip design?

 

No, they are not a dual skin design.

I have to say, I was never a fan of this tip style, but when I saw them on my car, I think I am going to switch to them...

I like the idea of the straighter piping and the fit relative to the rear bumper cut outs, but the single walled construction looks a little raw (which is perfect for some cars).

Hi John,

Any chance building a similar style tip (big mouth) to fit on the stock 996TT exhaust? The options for owners with a stock outlet is terrible IMHO.

As for sound, I have not been able to drive the car with them due to snow - the roads are covered with salt and sand. It's snowing again right now....I will be waiting for a good window after a washing rain to give them a test. I am sure they will have their own sound, as every tip style seems to have a unique sound. I will update as soon as we have a chance to run a thorough test.

john lone dissenter here. i had that style and the drone was insane. 4" slash tips. and looked way to raw for a porsche. what about a set of oem style in 3"? its so hard to find decent tips with the odd cutout of the bumper. any thoughts on trimming the bumper to a better shape and trim it in stainless?
