E85 fuel system for over 1200 whp...

As I maxed my weldon pump out at 1300 whp I am forced to look for a solution.. Here is what I am going to try.

Now for some spec's:

The mallory low psi pump flows 520 gallon/hour @ 6psi. This pump will feed a vapor tank that I will make from stainless steel, from that I will feed the mechanical pump. I will need to find a place to mount the mechanical pump in the cramped engine compartment. This pump setup is good for 1500 whp.

At first I was going to mount the mech pump in place of the power steering pump at a 1-1 speed with the serpentine wrapping more then 3/4 of the pulley, but if it slipped even the slightest.... Boom.. So I am in search of a place to run a cog belt. I will update with pic's of all my progress..

Tim are you retaining the exhaust/turbo setup positioning that you currently have? Have you considered direct drive off the crank snout with a cush drive coupler? Would work as long as the pump speed can be 1:1 to the crank, and of course if the room was there(you got big spools in the way now)

Personally, with a little fab work one can make a cog drive off the crank. Will likely require a custom rear cradle support and possibly some cutting and welding in the rear of the engine bay to create enough room for belt passage(pending belt width and belt offset)

I like where this is going though

Rep points and subscribed to this. Im a big believer in E85 also as it is convenient here. I wonder how much power your car can make on regular 93 out of the pump. Nice work, good luck.

Car will easily make north of 800wheel on 93 and is say close to 1k wheel if he really wanted to push it.... We do it with our GTRs so im sure it can be done in a P car. It will make the peak hp, but the power comes on much different then say a E85 setup make the same peak HP....much more power under the curve

Awesome setup!!!!!! I have yet to max out my IN-tank setup on E85. Once i do, i may have to try something like this... very innovative!!!

I think that Tim is confused and thinks R&D stands for Rebuild and Destruct... Or is it Repair and Destroy. At his power level there's only one way to find out what needs to be beefed up next. Looks like he's having fun and making progress. Should be interesting to see where this project ends up. Although I doubt he will ever be "done".

High voltage and there is not a reliable way of powering the pump. Weldon makes some crazy pumps for the aviation world.

I am not sure but my turbo cam, stock heads ported and 997t intake with gt3076r's setup would do 720 whp with out pulling any timing at 20psi on 93oct.

The more info I get for data logging the harder it is not to push more, knowledge is power.. horse powers. I have some more parts inbound..

I found a spot to mount the pump but the drive housing that I have is too long so I sent it back and a shorter one is en route. I need to order up some Stainless steel to make a vapor separator. more updates and pics soon.
