Forced Performance K24 Upgrade (68HTA Wheel)
#16
Although I don't doubt the FP stuff is awesome, I would go with the 18g billet upgrade. I believe it is nearly half the costs with similar results. The 18g's with pump gas will put you over 500 pretty easily on pump gas.
#17
the cost is almost the same. the op is factoring in the added cost of buying the k24 turbos in his price. he is on k16 at this time so i suggested just going to alpha 28 and forget about core charges
#18
Sounds like to me its $2500 for just the FP upgrade....
18gs would be about 1400-1600 depending for the upgrade...

blouch does most of the 24/18 turbos and they wont sell them retail. the shops i contacted wanted approx 2000$ for the set. so theres 500$ difference. i would have sent mine to blouch already but they wont take them. they tell me i have to go thru either epl or proto to buy their turbos builds and they quoted me a higher price

I wanted to thank all of you for your advice.
I would tend to agree that the Alphas are a great deal, though considering I want to avoid building my motor, the quick hit of boost/torque created by the Alphas worries me about bending the rods more readily than a slower boost ramp like the 24/18g (or a quick hit of less torque like a billet K16).
At this point I continue waffling between the 24/18g or Billet K16. The 24/20 I've heard isn't worth it without race fuel...so those are out. Alphas (as noted above) also kinda scare me...
If they are in excellent shape, $2,500 is a great price. I've seen prices for used 24/18g (but refurbished and checked out) for $3,300.
Decision, Decisions.

Some wheels flow the same but one may heat the air less, more efficient. The one that heats the air less will tax your intercoolers less. Also as earl3 stated.. the stock cover is for the birds...

is there a happy medium from the k24 that can provide a decent amount of power without exceeding the limits of the turbos themselves? comp sent me a decent price for their build but im still learning what i need to know about turbos in general

comp has alot of differnt options for porsche if i recall correctly. its been a while since i inquired, not alot of people even know about Comp. i am curious as to what they have available now and pricing.
