Racing harness Q?
Racing harness Q?
Hi all.
I've bought some racing seats to help out with the upcoming DE season. Hoping to improve focus and times by not having to contort myself in turns on the track to stay planted in my current stock seats.
I don't want the effort of a roll cage solely as an expensive way to hang racing belts, and didn't care much for the BK harness bar theory, since it's almost as much, and the same hassle (install/ remove out of the question).
So.....I believe I've seen some folks run their shoulder straps all the way back to the rear seats and somehow anchor them there. Anybody know how that's done, what parts I need, and any cautions?
Thanks!

Shoulder belt mount point generally s/be as short as possible behind seat.....ideally down (0-20') and slightly in. I don't know if anyone would recomend a long run back to rear seats.
Is Brey the only option these days in a harness bar?
I actally had a "bar" back on the 993 but now I'm am out of touch.....have had 6 pont and roll for quite a few years.

I see your point with the cumbersome harness or roll bars, but the point hits home when you actually NEED the safety device (we hope you never do, but on the track, chances might just be greater). The belt run to the back seat is too long and too low. I case of an accident, the belt can twist/stretch and you might be pressed down in your seat, instead of cradled. Leaving the stock belts in combination with a belt locking device would be better. Happy motoring.
