I have no WORKING server or working directory..I am coming up with "car of the month" and need to test the amount of space I have. There are some changes going on here with look and feel. We need to strip the skin a bit too since its really time to go with the new version of vbulletin that is NOT compatible with this skin.

A Shank no more skin ? I don't think it should be to hard for you to remake or whip up a new skin in 3.0.7. It looks to me, that you are pretty knowledgible with HTML and Graphics, which is all you need to make VB looks impressive. Which you obviously have done with 6speed currently.
3.0.7 is nice, mostly security upgrades. VB3.5 is rumored to be using AJAX, which is dynamic server to client type stuff, no more refreshing when posting just click and view, should be extremly nice.

I am in the process of doing my first vbskin, I am not an expert with html or php, but from what I know you basically make the graphics then just integrate the graphics aka skin into the template system from the admincp, it is basic html from there on. PHP is more for how the forum software actually functions and not so much how it looks, the template files are all HTML header/footer/postbit etc... I’m not sure if this will work from the current version to 3.0.7, but you can try to export the current style, which is a .xml file containing all of the css and other things. Then re-upload the xml file to 3.0.7, so the majority of the board will look the same, except for the graphics, which must be integrated into the template system.
For more information on how to make the transition smooth, I would try posting a question on www.vbulletin.com, they have many knowledgeable people on there, that should make it a breeze to switch over from the current version to 3.0.7, without much hassle.
