In my case, it has not happened since I installed the detent.

Can you explain what is "detent?" Sorry for noobie question. How much for the product and install?

Prior to installing "detent" was is the 2nd gear pop out a frequent issue, or random seldom occurrence?

My current TL had a 3rd gear pop out issue (3rd gear would pop out to neutral, random occurrence 2-3x/day a few days/week, tends to happen during cold weather; dealership finally replaced the 3rd gear set under warranty and it hasn't happened since).

those are the high dollar items. good thing is most of them if repaired with the newer options wont fail again and you can enjoy the car for yrs to come. the engine is a well built beast and will last a very long time
My car is an 03 and I had the slave / accumulator issue, cost about $1000 to fix other wise nothing else. I think the slave / accumulator is pretty normal for all cars, the rest is petty uncommon but happens enough to report on.

Overall the cars are super reliable. I thrash mine regularly and it's been great. Dropping the clutch at the line and smoking the rear tires then packing 2nd gear with tires still spinning is very satisfying. Makes other drivers nervous when you're going sideways past them however...

Here the info on the detent.

In my case, it was a random/seldom occurrence and I installed the detent as soon as it happened. It has not happened since the install of the detent. Hope this helps.

Since when are there "horror stories" about turbos? These cars are very reliable.

Now my BMW x5, that's a horror story, lol
