I'm wondering if this would work for track duty?

I sell these and they will turn over a 120 Cu In v twin with 11:1 CR. It could be mounted in the floor of the frunk too to lower the C/G.

this is a cool battery but my 55 AH weight is only 8,4kg vs 7.1kg

80AH weight is around 18kg

To answer the original question it will not make the altenator work harder. The battery is used to power the car and turn the starter when the car is not running. Once the car is running the altenator tops up the battery and powers all accessories. The only time it might drain the battery some is at idle with a bunch of accessories running(wipers, headlights, radio, fans, etc.) As long as it is not idle for an excessive amount of time the battery will work just fine. Just remember to put it on a tender during extended periods of sitting. These cars slowly drain batteries.
