I was told by Mark that the seat comes with bracket already mounted to the rails which also come mounted to the seat. He told me that you remove the 4 bolts that afix the rail to the floor of the existing seat, pull it out and pop the new seat in with the new rails already attached to the new seat...

 

Some install tips courtesy of Viken...

1- Remove ignition key
2- Type and size of socket: E12 reverse torx
3- Modify the electrical harness plug for proper airbag light function (the only part retained is the square green plug and it must go back the same way)
4- Replace the seatbelt buckle on new seats

just got off phone with Mark. Cloth seats can only be bought in Europe for some reason. So I guess our choices are $2300US (plus shipping) from FA or $2,595 Euro (includes shipping) which is about $2,980US at todays exchange rate.

Shipping to Toronto is $165US, so the difference for me is only $515US.

I am going to confer with my track buddies and decide which way to go. Best of luck.

The seats are Porsche Recaro GT3 Factory Original Brand New in the box and include the side mounts and slider brackets ready to bolt in any model 986 or 996. They come with a Porsche Cars North America 2 yr. warranty. These seats are full leather, not the cheaper European cloth or alcantara that with a 1 year European warranty.

The GT3 seat group buy has reached 10 pairs of seats so I have placed the order with Porsche we will start shipping the seats on Tuesday November 4 as Porsche delivers them. The Black seats will most likly be in first and then the Savannah Beige and Metro Blue. I have asked Porsche for all the GT3 seats in their inventory so I will have some extra sets and I will extend the price while supply last.
