PES GP 7 wheels

Give your Porsche the technologically advanced wheel it deserves
PES has sold out of our first batch of GP 7 wheels. Suprisingly almost all where purchased by european customers. We have recieved our much LARGER second batch of wheels already. As we are supporters of 6speedonline, we are going to be setting aside 10 sets of wheels for 6speedonline members. These 10 sets are going to be offered @ $3995.00 per set (no tires). This pricing is not going to be advertised on our website and will be available only to the 6speedonline community. Please PM myself, Tony, or Ron if you are interested in purchasing a set of one of the most technologically advanced forged lightweight wheels for your Porsche Turbo

i've replied to all the other GP7 threads so i may as well reply to this one too. PLEASE get them made in 8.5x18 and 12x18 for us GT2 guys! I know there are at least 10 people on these boards with GT2s that are looking for a good lightweight wheel for our car. And i know you always reply to go with the 19s but there simply is no good race rubber selection.

They only way to do that if it is possible would be to have at a minimum of 10 sets presold. Which you would then have to wait until they where finished to recieve them (this is not a speedy process) If people are willing to pay for a set of wheel's that they would not have some time then we could proceed forward with the idea of producing 18" wheels for the 996 tt.
Part 2: If you are really interested in pursuing the weight factor the forging house used to manufacture the GP 7 will also create a wheel in Magnesium (read as the ultimate in weight savings). If this program gets off the ground with enough sets presold we would be more than happy to proceed forward!!!!!!

I would be interested in 18's as well, for the same race rubber reason.

Colin,

Are you sure you want to make a road wheel out of magnesium? Having run magnesium wheels in the past, I can tell you that I will never do it again. The main problem is cracks and once you get one, might as wheel use that $1000+ wheel as a paper weight because I could not find a single vendor who could fix it (many tried though). The nominal weight savings you get as opposed to a forged alu wheel is not worth the risk IMHO.

YMMV... Thanks.

The magnesium would be designed for track use (no potholes)

Magnesium is a no go although it would definitely be nice to save that weight. I started a different thread for anyone interested in 18s.
