Warming up issues while driving, but no on idle...

After putting a 2003 gt2 complete powertrain into my 996tt, as well as changing the instrument cluster to the gt2 one, I am experiencing some issues.

If the car were to idle for a while, it will warm up allowing the oil level to be checked, as well as the heat to work.

The moment I start driving the car, the temp. Gauge will start to decline, to the point that I get an "instrument failure" notice. At this point the heat doesn't work and the oil can't be checked.

We have replaced the termostat and the sender unit as well as the engine temp sensor all at once, helping the issue slightly as while driving the temp gauge will go up to the first mark and will not decline, but it will not go any higher unless the car is left to idle or if it sits for a while in traffic

Any ideas anyone??

heat doesn't work, like out of the vents? blown head gasket maybe? I don't think that would cause an instrument failure notice though.

that's a rough one, sorry man, I'm not much help anyways but just trying to throw something out there for you since it feels like an eternity to get a reply once you post up with a problem
