Cancelled my 997TT order!

Took my name off the list, saw a Ford GT up close, that will be my next ride without a doubt! Unbelievable car up close and personal, do yourself a favor guys, go out and get one of these F-car killers while you still can. I was skeptical when I approached it, and blown away when I left.

I would do yourself a favor and not spend 200k on a ford. I am not trying to be rude, they are fast, they look exotic but they have been having issues all along. Some come with more hp than others. Some people have had huge problems, while others not so much. I guess that happens with tons of different car brands, but as exotic as they look I still would not buy one. You can buy a Shelby Cobra remake with 500-800hp for around 50-65 and still buy yourself a 997TT for the same price as the Ford GT. You will get the crazy exotic muscle car feel and the refinement of the 997TT. Just my two cents.

I actually had the opposite impression. I saw the Ford GT upclose at the LA Autoshow & it followed the Ford tradition of "supposed" to be an amazing car, but then you see the cut corners when you get up close. Regular stainless steel exhaust pipes, instead of chrome plated. Looked like plumber's piping. The seats were a joke. Looked completely cheap & uncomfortable. Can't comment on performance, but ths was a disappointment. Looked at the Z06 & Viper Coupe & liked it way better.

Same here...

Even though I think the car is beautiful... After reading about Clarkson returning his GT, I lost interest in it.

Clarkson had problems with the aftermarket alarm system. Problems are blown way out of proportion. That guy mostly whined about it being too wide for the streets of London and that he had trouble parking it on their streets.

Good choice, but wait til this winter and get one below list.

C4S, I was so hot for the car from the moment I first saw the prototype on the Javitz Center floor. I put down a deposit and then waited, and waited, and waited and then finally the dealer calls me 2 months ago to say he's got 2 cars available for me to "pick from" not order and we are looking at around 240. I told him not only would I not buy one at 240 but even if he was offering to me at sticker (not for flipping) and I had to get rid of my Turbo, I'd seriously have to think it over. It took soooooo long and there are some potential issues that for me it won't be now and probably not ever. I saw a couple of them over at Bentley LI where my friend and I know a few people and they look/sound great but I might prefer a 360 or 430 as you see them all together side by side. There prices have and will continue to fall to reality and then some b/c they are making plenty. Alot of them are still in the hands of dealers/speculators expecting to make big bucks on them and that's just about over. Within a year or so they will be another used exotic without the pedigree and orphans historically don't do that well over time.

I saw one up close a month or so ago in Long Island. It was at the shop where Reus was doing my stereo. The owner wanted it cleaned up so he could sell it. I liked finally seeing it, but did not like the lines of the car. It is not for me.

I was totally blown away in person, I'm probably gonna wait 'til winter when the prices drop. Agree with the devil, I will never pay over sticker for any car. Having said that I must have that car!
Either white w/blue stripes or blue w/ white stripes.

I'm with Doc on this one - I think the car looks fantastic and it performs. Trust me, if a car said "Kia" and performed the way my TT does, I'd buy it. Everyone has different buying motives - mine are very simple - HP and Torque. And there is no such thing as to much. The fact that the car costs a lot less (like Doc, I will never pay more than sticker) than the Porsche is a plus.

yea, cause his aftermarket alarm wasn't working

I have a feeling my dad is going to get one soon, he's put a few of our cars up for sale to make room for one. Prices should be at MSRP soon.

There was a great article in this months Hot Rod about how Ford stepped up to fix the control arm problem, i'll have to find it.
