996 Turbo Rims

Would 19 inch 997 Tires & Rims fit into a 2005 996 Turbo S?

I just test fit a set of 997.2 Turbo wheels and tires on my 05 Turbo S. I didn't even bring it down off the lift to ground level before I took them off. The look on our cars just seemed a little off. Even the techs in the shop thought the polished aspect of the wheel looked too flashy for the 996. I have Polar silver metallic paint so that could've contributed to the clashing of color and polish. But to answer your question...they fit fine. Just make sure you have the EXACT tire sizing to have an equal rolling diameter front to rear!

I was told the rear tires were too wide. Is this true or are they wrong.

In what way? There are 996TT owners on this forum that run 325/25/19 out back with no problems. There were no obvious issues on my car when I had the wheels on. Search the forum and I'm sure you will get the info you need. I'm not an expert so I can't tell you one way or the other how they will work for you. But if they had looked better on my car I would be driving in them right now.

There are a few members that have installed OEM 997.1 19" Turbo rims on a 996 Turbo. In order for this setup to work properly without the wheels rubbing on the inside wheel well, you will need to install spacers and appropriate bolts as the offsets are different.

Not sure about the 996 Turbo S, but:

Stock 996TT wheels
Front 8" ET50
Rear 11" ET45

Stock 996GT2 wheels
Front 8.5" ET40
Rear 12" ET45

The 997TT OEM wheels are:
Front 8.5" ET56
Rear 11" ET51

Please do a search regarding these wheels and spacers - it has been discussed a lot.
