Should i buy this 101k miles 996 turbo?
I was that car too , but like mentioned above the delaer that has it seems like one of those that get all the stuff that big dealerships cant dump so they pass it down to this small ones. I really want a Turbo but im on a budget Yes I know that the word budget a Porsche dont go hand in hand. i like to find something w lower mileage as it will be a daily for me. I been also thinking about a non turbo as there are way more of those w lower miles and at around that same range, but im not sure if it be woth buying that as I want HP.
The OP mentioned he could spent between $30k and $40k at one point. For closer to $40k you will find very nice 2001 models, and probably get close to a 2002 as well. I saw one not too long ago with 32k original miles (2001) with an asking price of $39,999 and I heard that it went for even less.
So if your dream is to own a Porsche 911 Turbo (which is a very nice dream btw), you can probably get a much lower mileage example and still make it fit your budget. Best wishes!

My feeling is the 996tt is a better car (quality) than most of its same year counterparts. While I agree that a 100k mile car is more likely to need updates and repairs than a 50k mile car there are plenty of 100k mileage cars still running strong that have less issues than some of the newer lower mileage examples.
Regardless of the year or mileage you decide to buy, the maintenance isnt so bad, but simple repairs on other cars are costly to say the least on our turbos. I purchased a 10k mile car and needed $2K in repairs within the first 6 mos not including the maintenance I had done.
While our model seems to be below market value compared to other model years, you cant go wrong with a well maintained car regardless of mileage.
Unfortunately, many people on this forum say you should pay A LOT less than the advertised price because of this or that, and there are certainly plenty of them in the high 30- low 40k price range, however, I think that when a forum continuously says buy newer or lower miles we help repress the price point of our glamorous vehicles.
My Buddy VAGScum has close to 100k miles and his car runs stronger than my 16k miles 2 year newer version. As long as the buyer and seller both feel good about the deal, its usually a good deal.
Good luck with what ever you decide, and please make sure to drive it more than I do mine --- 2k miles per year.

In all seriousness, of course not. I wouldn't "recommend" to anyone with a 2011 car that makes lots of power, is probably under warranty for a long time, costs very little to insure and register and run, and is probably also far from paid off, to buy an 11-year-old, 100,000 mile Porsche that will cost them cubic boatloads more money to keep on the road over the next, say five years, then the Mitsu will.
Hell, I've never even driven an EVO -- it may be more fun than a 996TT, for all I know. But regardless, trading it for a 100k Turbo is insane.
100k, 11yo 996TTs should be bought with cash by someone with other modes of transportation and a reserve fund that will allow the fixing of expensive breakages should they occur. Not saying they will, but it's a lot more likely to cost you money than a still-warrantied Japanese car.
Cheers!
