Any way to adjust clutch?

I love my car but I hate the clutch. It engages way too high plus it is like an on/off switch.

Is there any way to adjust the clutch for a low engagement?

ANother option would be some sort of stop on the floor to keep the pedal from traveling too far forward. The was a cheap gizmo for BMWs that did this since BMWs have a similar clutch engagement. I used on in my Z3 and M roadster and it was magic!

Any ideas?

The clutch is fried, you need a new one.

There is no such thing as a "UUC Clutch Stop" for the Porsche.

I encountered the same thing as you and asked the same questions when I test drove a Porsche (with a dead clutch).

If your clutch engages high and feel heavy, you need new clutch!

I better not need a clutch. It only has 4600 miles and no abuse! Plus, this is how it has always been.

Having a high or hard clutch pedal DOES NOT mean that you need a new clutch, although it could. I would first suspect water in the hydraulic system and bleed both the brakes and the clutch slave. Just because the pedal is higher, does not mean the disc is fried, but simply wearing normally.

All the TTs that I have driven have the same issue with the clutch. It DOES engage a lot higher than other cars.. and I am just getting used to it.. My clutch holds fine under WOT. If there was an adjustment to be made where it engages, I'd like to know as well.

Yes the clutch engages pretty much at the end of the pedal travel. It seems common as both the the 05 and the 01 behave identically. The 05 did it with the stock clutch and with the updated evom's clutch & pressure plate (stage 4). I have asked 2 dealers and the shop that did the evoms install. I really wish that the thing would behave the the 02 boxster S but no luck there. Sadly, seems that practice is the only cure.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I figured it is just the way the car is. I personally don't like it. Especially when I drive other manual transmission cars and the engagement is at a "normal" position. I am going to attempt to fabricate some sort of clutch stop to keep the pedal from traveling too close to the floor. It worked for my past BMWs that had the exact same problem. I just have to make sure it is low enough to completely disengage the clutch and also make sure the start up saftey switch will still engage.

Never did get a solution to the problem. The 996TT and the 997TT are known to have lousy feel in the clutch. Most say upgrade to a GT2 clutch system.

Can't help you with yours. Sorry.
