911 Tuning build alpha 28 dyno results
Met up with crazy32 today at Trackmasters in Huntsville Al and we dyno'd
our cars. Unfortunately Steve has an issue with his DME and it's causing
misfires. We still had a lot of fun, ate some great sushi and Steve invited
one of his buddies form another forum. We has some irresponsible fun
racing around and a Vette even jumped in the action for as little bit!
We dyno'd at Trackmasters several months back. Same dyno so we had
a fairly accurate gauge to work with. I hit 557 hp and 597 tq with my
previous setup, K16 biletts. I'm now sporting a set of Tial alpha 28s
and a new host of supporting mods. I recently posted a 5.35 60-130
mph and I believe 5.1s are possible in the next week or two.
I'm making roughly 17% more hp and 14% more torque then on the
16G setup. The car makes power everywhere, low, mid and up top!
Markski is going to tweak the tune and I've recently installed a SpeedTech
Y pipe. Whoever says larger better flowing Y pipe doesn't make a difference
are out of their minds! The results were immediately noticeable. The
spool comes on at least 400 rpm's quicker and the power increase is
felt throughout out the low and midrange.
I forgot to have Arthur do an overlay of the k16g graph and the a28 graph
I'd bet that the power under the curve is significant.

car was a beast! enough power to blow a i/c boost hose off on deceleration! have to say the 911 tuning exhaust sounded fantastic. low grumble mean and nasty roar at wot.
he has a fully dependable monster on his hands. sideways at will and looks as mean as it runs!
the sushi and sushi rolls were amazing and as always randy is a fantastic host. hopefully my new dme will get to me next week and fix my open injector circuit issue. had a full day of fun and cant wait to see randy run this beast at the half mile in sept!

These are 4th gear pulls. The spool in 1st, 2nd and 3rd is as fast, if not
quicker, then k16s.
On pump gas @ 1.25 bar I'm probably around 600 crank.
I managed a 6.8 60-130 on pump at 1.25
Thanx bro! We still have some tuning issues to work out. I've got Markski
in my corner for that one and a I have a friend here who's a Porsche
master technician. He's been wrenching on Porsche and Mercedes for
30 years. He and I are talking about buying a 968 and building a race
car. He has a ton of Linsey racing stuff from his 944 turbo and he
wants to swap the heads out from a 2.7 or 2.5 and slap a hybrid
turbo on it. You're old skool like me and I thought you might appreciate

I hope the DME clears up the injector issue bro! You were a real sport
yesterday but I know that was a pain. And yep, the Georgia 1/2 mile is
gonna be fun!
the dyno numbers landed where I thought they would... A3076s at the same boost levels and same add ons land about 680/700whp...
thats still with an exhaust thats not full 3"... its the medium version... I will keep harping on this because some assume the X exhausts do not make power... Im sure if it was full 3" we would see a little better number...
good job Randy,
markski
