Drove car for about 60mi without cap on,didnt seem to make any mess, but should I be worried about anything? No dash lights ever came on,this kind of surprised me

I did the same thing about 500 miles ago. Drove for about 100-150 miles w/o it. No lights, no problem. Had my 50K service and told the indy about it, but since it didn't rain and I didn't wash it in the interval, nothing happened to the oil.

Was the cap still in the engine bay, or did you leave it outside of the car?

In the engine bay- guess I was lucky it was still there.

It was still in the engine bay, snuggled up between the engine and the lid liner. I only detected it because I opened the engine bay to show the engine to a friend, and noticed it just sitting there. Doh!
