I run Blizzak LM-60 on OEM 993 twists. Perfect winter wheel/tire combo.

Great thread topic. I know the 996tt on snow tires topic has been beaten to death, but I think most responses have been from folks that get occasional snow and tire. What about REAL snow, like 300"+ per winter?

I split my time between Denver and Breckenridge and REALLY want this car to be my primary car year round. I ran non-studded General Articmax (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....reMake=General) on my Audi S4 and BMW X3 last winter and had a real nice time. I'm hesitant to run a "performance snow tire" as I think you end up giving up too much snow/ice traction.

What options do we have for non-performance snow tires? I know there is a guy that posts on here from Wisconsin (where I learned how to drive in snow/ice BTW) that is running a 17" square setup. Anyone know the details on how that works?
