What is the appropriate labor duration for a Spring install??

I am having Cargraphic springs put on my 01 TT. I was curious about what may be normal time to put them on. I was quoted 8 hours at $125/hr.

Is this something that has to be done at a Porsche dealer or any good mechanic able to do this? I have access to a Lexus service department at very low rates.

Thanks in advance.

Arling - If it didn't cost me $1000 to ship the car to you, I would definitely have you do it : )

Back to my original Q, can any good mechanic do this? or do I have to pay the high dollar.. oh, and the alignment is on top of that.. sigh..

Less than an hour on what car?? If a Porsche 996TT please have this tech call me as he would save us A LOT of money and time!!!!

Normally if springs are not purchased from us we charge 6 hours of labor plug alignment here ($100/hr). Comes out to around $750-800... If purchased from us we knock some of that off

Sounds about right actually, you have to take the whole thing down just to add springs, incld part of the front drive and ball joint. Why not just replace the shock/struts as well, labor will be the same, why not just put in x73 or row?
Just replacing the springs will probably cause a little high speed bump steer, my never see it unless you track the car though.

i paid around $600 for my cargraphic spring install and that included alignment. any good tuner should be able to do it. nothing magical there. i would insist on a reputable alignment shop for your car though.

800.00 is about the going rate, with an align. I would seek an independent specialist or a dealer.

Dog, a C4S/TT with AWD is a little more involved labor wise on the front compared to a C2, so I think 700-1000$ incld alignment is about right.

Arling - I know this has been covered somewhere else before, but do you guys do a corner balance as well? (I'm not looking to start a long-*** discussion on this topic, I'm just curious.)

Arling's price is great. Almost any independent Porsche shop should be able to get it done for $500-$650 including alignment & corner balance.

Authorized dealers will charge between $850-$1000 because their labor rates are usually $50 per hour more than independent shops.
