Sunroof memory problems

My sunroof will not retain the open-close memory even when I re-teach it, as per factory instructions. Does anyone know if the circuit board for memory is in the switch or in the motor?? I have the feeling I may have to replace the motor. What do you guys think? Mike

Dang it - this is now more one more thing for me to worry about.

Wait a minute - I have a cabriolet....what a relief!

On a serious note, what is the sunroof memory?

Yup -- had the same problem. In my case, the sunroof would work after I did the reset, but it wouldn't hold for more than a few hours. I had to get the sunroof motor replaced (I believe the circuit board and motor are together). If this is the case for you, the part number is: 997-624-211-00. You're looking at approx. $400 for the part and one hour labor.

The sunroof memory is connected to the rain sensor on the front windshield. Unfortunately, when the memory goes bad and the rain sensor detects rain, the sunroof will open. It is even worse with the cabriolet memory.

Never heard of that but it sounds like a cool feature . I think the memory just lets the motor know where the limits are (open, close, tilt). I've never seen the sunroof (or window) open by itself.

Ok -- Now I'm wondering whether we're talking about the sane thing. When you say "the sunroof memory is connected to the rain sensor...", can you tell me what this sunroof memory is suppose to do when it's working properly?

OK -- I know the new Star Trek movie just came out, but now I feel like we've gotten into an infinite loop with this thread with no new information forthcoming.

Boys, boys, boys...........forget the rain sensor its not connected to the sunroof motor LMAO.. After talking to several people the concensus is that the motor contains the circuit board and memory function...So I am changing out the motor and will let you guys know how it goes, I know, I know...But what if it snows!!!!!!!
