Spoiler Failure Light Came on...
Weird... The terminals were jumped when I installed the GT2 deck lid 4 years ago and all was good until recently. I was idling in town from traffic light to traffic light when the spoiler failure light suddenly came on. I reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and looked at the wiring which was done by a Porsche Tech at a dealer which looked fine. After the reset it hasn't yet came back on. Any thoughts or ideas???
Thx. Everything looks fine like it was factory installed. The wire is jumped at the main harness plug on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Everything looks fine with nothing in the way to move or even touch it!?
Having just been through going to a fixed wing this weekend, I would strongly suggest a loose wire. The wiring and controls are simple. The "bottom" microswitch signal needs to read disengaged (no connectivity) and the "top" microswitch needs to read engaged (shorted). Intermittent wiring issues are challenging to track down, wouldn't worry unless it appears again.
Anyways, sorry for the error. I hate that one cause it keeps coming back every 15 minutes until you turn off the car. Like what am I going to do Porsche, fix it on the side of the road, lol.
