Thanks for the welcome, I live around south phx area.

Has anyone had good luck just JB welding the pipe above water pump? It looks like you need to take off the alternator to get the piece back in the hole. Can anyone explain how they have done it in the past?

I am really going back and forth as to just JB welding it for the interm or dropping the engine and doing the weld fix, clutch and FW, gt2 slave conversion, and inlet pipes. $10 fix vs $5k+...

Criyi...something else to worry about? Is this a fairly common problem...like the non-turbo IMS? Kind of a 50/50 thing?

Unless you plan to track regularly, I would JB Weld, until the the clutch change/engine drop.

Do it once, do it right.

Like I said on the phone, why pay for it twice? When and IF the JB weld starts to leak, you'll be out more money.

Do your clutch, do the coolant weld, eat the cost, be happy when it's done and you don't have to do it again.

I hate labor charges as much as the next guy, but I really hate paying for something twice, and I've done that on more than one occasion.

Damn!! I sure hope Porsche does something about this! If they refuse I hope someone puts together a class action suite like on the E46 M3 subframes!
