It is a 4G connected iPad.. Real time traffic, Pandora internet radio, Google maps, Siri, Quick google searches when stopped 
, you name it....it is fully connected to the internet. It also functions as a wireless hotspot for a laptop.
AT&T has shared data plans where 5 of us share 15gb per month...and its only $10/month extra to add an iPad which will share data out of the 15gb per month... 5 of us barely use 7-8gb per month, so this is an excellent option for me.
