Subject: Rotors for 996TT

Was trying to buy a set of rotors from local reseller, and they informed me that they were out of stock and were having issues replenishing their stock. Someone else had informed me that you guys were changing the design, and that is likely why they were out of stock everywhere.

Can you tell me whether or not you still make rotors for the Porsche 996 Turbo ? If not, I will move on to something else.

Thank You.

Jonas,

The rumors you hear are true, we have gone to a new foundry and have been waiting some time to get these rotors back out to the masses. The good news is that we will be shipping the first pieces later this week. We’ve already had many sets in circulation for testing but the first official production run is under way and they will be available very shortly.

Let me know if you have any other questions or would like to get those ordered, thanks!

Thanks Jonas......Owen is the one that would know. He's not responded to my mail.....nor has RSS, so I thought something might be up.

I'm below 31mm on my fronts.....will chance one more track day but then, in a few weeks will either need Giro to come through.....or change-out as you have mentioned.

Rss

Last time I exchanged emails with RSS it seemed they were no longer going to carry Girodisc, mainly due the inability to stock their shelves, maybe they will change their mind. I don't believe you will find anything on the RSS site from Girodisc.

You are right Jonas....Schalke just shot me mail that they are no longer associated w/the Giro brand.
....so that answers that question.

A bit more info from today ..

Jonas,

They are very similar to the old rotors but we have gone with a different foundry and made some minor changes in the metallurgy to improve longevity.

Let me know if you have any other questions, thanks!
