Exclamation My 996 TT is slow , inputs ?

Hi all , today I floor it all the way since I own the car (10) days , I had RL in the car , my 100–200 km/h madness , 7.9 seconds

turbos 18g/24 , 58lb injectors , not sure about FPR . new Forge intercoolers on the way , what should run healthy 996TT on this set up ? boost on the dash 1.1 , sometimes 1.2 not often . Thanks you

You must have a serious boost leak or some issue with the car. I have 18g and im in the 6s range.

have a durametric? you can get codes without a CEL.

Spark plugs, coil packs, map sensor, N75 valve, these are all common / possible problems.

Who did the tune? 91 or 93?

It's likely a boost leak.... common, and you'll find them in places you wouldn't imagine.

Get Marski's kit, its super easy to do.

The turbos are still going to try to produce 1.1 or 1.2 bar, whatever the tune is set for, regardless of a leak. They just have to work harder to maintain pressure. Even a small leak and rob you of some serious power.

Tony EPl , 1.2 I think , I hope it's a boost leak , the oil in the intercoolers might cousing that , new ones on the way , what can be the gain with better ignition timing?

More power? lol

600's aren't uncommon with 24/18's... 7.9 seems... well... slow. I'd say high 6's are realistic. Also, 1.3 bar will make much more than 1.1-1.15 - probably 20-35hp range. I find that dash gauge to be pretty far off compared to my EBC.

Boost leaks are common. I test my car every 2-3 months. It's 13 years old, sometimes things break.

Summer vs Winter, being in Arizona. A 30 degree difference makes some significant power increases.

Averages 107-110 here in the summer, come November/December where it's in the 60's-70's, I'll put down another 40hp/tq.

If I throw in 100 octane, I'll pick up another 30.

You figure If I go from complete opposite ends, hot and 91 to cold and 100, I'll pick up another 70hp/tq. Putting me in the low 500's to the 600's. Granted the tune is also modified to handle the additional octane

It's a night and day difference when it's cool out. It was 83 here the other day, the car was like a raped ape.

It's not just the car fairbird. You're not going to run a record 60-130 within 10 days of ownership. Go out and practice before checking for problems. 7.9 is not bad actually on such little mods.

You need a Pbox. How do you know you're in the 6's?
