Has anyone had their calipers powder coated? I want to get mine redone but people tells me it is such a big job to remove the internals that it is not worth it.
Thanks in advance
I tend to stay away from powder coating on materials that will experience higher than normal temperatures like brake calipers. Ceramic coating will last longer under heat cycles/stress.

Thanks for the input. For a car that sees repeated high speed braking like a track car, I completely agree with you. Ceramic coating is the only thing that will hold up. For a normal daily driven car, even with a spirited driver, I have had no issues with powder coat and I have seen no issues reported with it.

Keep in mind, that ceramic is more fragile than powder coating. So while it may stand up to heat cycles better, it is much easier to scratch. It is applied very thin. For calipers, this isnt a huge deal as long as care is taken when changing the pads or rotors.

I have nothing against ceramic coatings. They defintely have their place. I have some experience applying them, and I will eventually cover ceramic coatings in the guide as well.
