Tightened Taillights Too Much
Tightened Taillights Too Much
When I replaced my intercoolers a few weeks ago I noticed, I obviously tightened my taillight assemblies too much last time I had my bumper off!!!
So, has anyone come up with a solution to this problem or do I need to eventually replace the whole light assembly?
Edit: For fear of receiving the obvious (smart a**) answer, I realize the "solution" is to not tighten it so much!!! My question is if anyone has come up with a fix,,,?

I got some larger washers which picked up the rest of the light that could be grabbed and put those in. Make sure the washer are black though so you don't see them. Worked on both sides of my car.
Ditto. I just take care when removing/installing. Hopefully the LED replacements are available soon.

My tail lights did the same thing and this is extremely common. Definitely a design flaw.
Came up as widebody "Turbo and GT2" fitment, maybe worth looking into more..? I don't like the LED look but is a cheap alternative
There are no know LED replacements for our WB 996 cars. Those are NB lights. There WAS a long thread that hundreds of us posted on to remedy that but it has disappeared into the ether.
