This OP is full of it he just did this to get his name out here. Theres no tail lights being worked on......

 

the op wouldv'e gotten this done had he been a distribber/reseller instead of just a guy like us wants to see em done. it's this other guy that co-opted the thread i have/had my doubts about. but he did say spring/summer ....zzzzzz lol

 

Really!!!! He spent a whole bunch of his own money trying to get this done, now lets talk about all the time he spent... All just so some great 6 speeder like you would love and adore him!!!! Yeaaaahhhhh Rigggghhhtttt! ;-)


Then stepped in the bean counters of this site with some BS that the whole deal needed to be hosted by a paying advertiser of this site...... That was all to protect us from a big corporate rip off.. Wellllllll -----> He then signed up as a vender payed for by himself. When it was no longer even slightly economically fesable to throw thousands of dollars at being a paid site advertiser he worked to find someone else to take it over!!!!!! All in the end just to have to pay for a set of tail lights like anyone else would have to do!!!!

This thing has gone sideways in so many ways due to many people with very few ethics or alterior motives but Slider and F1 driver just wanting to get there names known was not one of them... Yeah!!!!! ---> They wanted to get their names known so badly they just got tired of the BS and virtually left this site almost never coming back... Pretty well for the same reason I do not come on here much!

Let's get some facts straight. Slider posted a thread, stating he was working on this project. It was very popular. The thread was taken down by 6spo mods because he was not a paying sponsor. It pissed me off which i told him to email me what he wanted me to post so i can put it back up for him. I wanted nothing to do with it. Weeks before i was going to end my sponsorship because, 1) I was tired of 6spo mods 2) tired of useless banter of some users 3) tired of same old 1/4 threads -- i can go on and on... i told Slider to ask the likes of 911tunning to co-sponsor the thread. I gave him plenty of time. I ended my sponsorship / mods took the thread down ( really pissed me off as it was something for the great good of the community for 996 t owners -so i hardly ever post / come here ) .

Now if you think ebwerks is my full time gig - you are in for a wake up call. Ebwerks is just my pass time hobby, that allows me with the disposable income from my real company, to make toys like this below. Also, i was happy to sell my 996t as i wouldn't have to read about 1/4 threads anymore. ugh. Those whom are grateful and find my post insightful still email me. I have helped plenty of people for no $. They were expecting to have to spill out $ to get their cars to handle good - yet after a few emails back and forth with me- they fix their issue for close to nothing and with none of my parts that i make Anyway's back to checking out of 6spo and going back to rennlist, the helpful place.

 

Why is there a ton of led narrow body 996 lights but not the turbo body? Makes no sense

 

Opps I guess I needed to add Sliders name too. I kinda forgot about his involvement too since he was the originator. He really does not come on here much now either. Both people got screwed for there time and efforts and the 996TT comunity as a whole lost out.


I think I am R8 or GT3RS bound soon so I will be elsewhere too for that reason!

 

Yikes, sorry - it's been a while... I haven't been here because I have been very busy and had no new information on this to pass along. As usual, I sent my bi-monthly email to the factory this week and was told that the lights are still on-track for August for the prototypes. This is still a go - and I'm not getting anything out of it either.

It would be nice to be popular though!

that supposition was more than likely a reference to the guy shane at delrey whatever that co-opted the thread/list and said he was making it happen. not slider, whose efforts at making this happen have been widely recognized.

Well.... I'm interested in these lights. Hope they work out.

 

Y'all take an Ativan or a Xanax and add a shot of 18yr old scotch to smooth the transition. I'd love to see a set of lights before my Ferrari purchase and if it comes , great. If not I never see my tail lights anyways.

To DelRey Custom : Interests are waning and there may be a time soon where interests will fade to black. Hopefully you have enough pull to get a product as for many on this thread may get a christmas present afterall !

 

The only wide bodied 996s are the C4S, Turbo and GT2. Those models make up just a small part of the total 996 sales so it makes perfect sense: There just aren't that many wide body 996s out there. Why spend thousands on a product with few customers? If it wasn't for 300 Turbo owners pledging to buy a set this would never have happened, the risk would be too high. Also keep in mind that factories that tool out these things doesn't have much knowledge of the Porsche community.
