Had the same problem a while ago. It was the plugs. My plugs went at about 20,000 miles.

Most likely the plugs or a bad coil pack are the problem. A flashing CEL typically is an "other than emissions" problem, most often a misfire. The upgraded power will usually kill those old FR5LDU plugs in the matter of a few miles. Upgrade to the Bosch FR6LDC and all will be good. Good luck

EM 996 GTS is infamous around these parts
I think this might cracked the unsoloved mystery in the Turbo. I'll try to swap them soon, hopefully it will be fixed.

Thanks

i had the same problem last week with my GT700. I changed the plugs and it was fixed . I had irridium plugs which work really well , but they only last about 6000 miles , now i went to the bosch FR6LDC and the car runs great again , also these will last longer.

I guess my next question is, where can I get the Bosch FR6LDC spark plugs from? I called some auto parts stores, and they only go up to a Bosch 4? Thanks for the help also.

sorry...posted on an old post....

Also, from doing a search, I have found there is a TSB for 01 Turbos spark plugs. Does anyone know the exact bulletin # for this. I called my dealer and asked, and the service manager was not aware of this. Thanks again.
