On a 2001TT do the plastic inserts/slats directly in front of the center radiator remove without having to pull the bumper off? I need to clean the radiator and this would allow for much better access.

I have heard they do but dont want to pull on them without checking first, if so please let me know the best way to remove.

On the 2003 996tt they do not. You have to pull the bumper

 

On my 2001, you have to remove the bumper.

You have to remove the bumper. And, the grills stop almost nothing.
