Hey Mark, I resemble that comment!

and my car is a DD. I DD it every day. It sounds like the apocalypse

at idle but I have a fantastically loud stereo to drown out the straight

pipes and godawful triple carbon clutch racket.

btw, Welcome

Great to meet all of you again, cheers.
Go ahead and cut to the chase. 35R turbos, built engine, 4.5 ICs,
maf-less and aftermarket engine management.

If you do this, it'll save you min 50k on the "in between" builds

so true. When I arrived here in June of 2012, I was going through my 3rd
divorce and maybe my 10th or 11th midlife crisis.

After the divorce, I went out and bought a 500 hp supercharged XFR
Jaguar and I purchased my 8th Porsche, a 2001 996 turbo.

I was going to join 6speed online and research an aftermarket exhaust,
tune and coil overs. 15 months later, I have a Porsche turbo that is
faster than a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, a Hayabusa motorcycle and
it sits 6th from the top of fastest 996 turbos on record.

A little Dante is in order:

"Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."

Thumbs up

My pre conceptions about porsche guys were true, just as crazy as m5 guys and maybe with even more of a twist of neurosis. love it. Though, I suspect the guys on this thread are the most 'extreme' from the board from the sound of both personal indiscretions as well as car choice in car mods. haha

Again, looking forward to getting to know everyone and contributing to the community.

Thanks, I am torn between building a car that is track oriented or a solid street beast. Each day its a battle between buying more suspension mods, or jumping to power mods.

Hey ACG, good to see some familiar faces. If you are in the mix here, I'm even more scared to see what you will do to your TT given the level you took/are taking with the m5. See you around!

Oh I heard about you layinback and I've seen your threads, your one of the 'pushers' aren't you? need to stay away from you haha kidding. good to meet you. Oh, I value that last sentence in your post about saving 50k and will certainly have to figure out which dark path to take...hehe

Thanks machinegunt, you as well. Would love to see a pic of your car sounds awesome from your sig mods listed!

Nice. Never really knew the potential of this platform until I stumbled upon 6speed. It's incredible, I just got a K16 flash which sounds so puny in terms of what others are doing here...haha. I'll enjoy it for a short while I'm sure, but as I've always heard...boost is the dark side, and is evil.

There's not an M5 on planet earth that'll keep up with a moderately

prepped 911 turbo.

I've owned 3 BMWs and I currently have a 328i DD. I love me some BMW
but this is a whole other ball game of fast

dont underestimate the highway pull of the m5. though i am particularly fond of their front end in my rear view.
