CPO Question

CPO Question
I understand that when I buy a CPO car from a private party, the CPO continues. Unfortunately the original CPO on a 2009 911 I am looking to purchase, expires early 2014. If this private seller would sell the car to a Porsche dealer, would the Porsche dealer be able to re-certify the car for 2 years and then sell this car to me? I understand this may not be an easy feat without a willing porsche dealer. If not, what are my options to extend the warranty?

all of this is rendered moot, IF this is a private party car. they will not ( to the best of my knowledge ) certify a car not already in their possession unless and or it is one they secure for you, in some form or fashion. eg them buying it first.
hope that helps.

yes they can. all pcar dealers are willing to re-certify the car and add two years additional warranty coverage to the original warranty as a "cpo"d car. as long as the car is no MORE than 7 years ( IIRC? ) from original date of service. if so, the porsche dealer can re-certify the car if it meets the criteria outlined on the CPO "checklist", and assuming all else is "normal". if the car is NOT already pre owned certified? yet still part of their dealer stock, you can request they cpo it, and expect to add roughly $3k to the price of the car.

Any advice on where to get an extended warranty, similar to a CPO?

fidelity ( ez care platinum? ) is reputed to be the most reputable and pcar dealers deal with them daily. a "cpo" or warranty is a "must have" if possible. it once saved me roughly $14k in my first year of tt ownership. gl with it.
