Question Cleaning Black Techart tips

I just received some new Black Techart tips from Arling and wanted to clean them up before install. They are a little cloudy and I was going to use some Mothers if that won't hurt the black finish. Is this ok?

hmmmm, personally i'd keep away from a mothers polish, unless we know for sure they are actually metal and not painted black or powder coated. Have you tried quick detailer or some wax? Or a paint polish?

I think they are painted since the inside of the tip has some uneven spray. Wax would probably work best. I assume the paint will hold up to the heat?

If they are painted, the wax will not hold up to the heat of exhaust. First, dilute blue dawn regular soap to about 1/100 (2 drops per quart and soak the tips). Then rinse and dry well. apply a synthetic wax and polish off (something like NXT) then apply a durable synthetic polymer (THIS IS A MUST!!) paint SEALANT (such as that sold by griots garage. Repeat yearly.

To maintain the shine after detailing while on the car, I am serious about this, while the exhaust is WARM to the touch, not hot, get a stick of unsalted butter and rub the outsides of the painted surface and then rinse before dry.

B,
the inside is painted like factory tips. outside is chromed. use just water & soap or Windex to clean them.
