Dyno Graphs of Two Premium Software Flashes
Dyno Graphs of Two Premium Software Flashes
I did a lot of research when looking for a flash upgrade to my 2004 911 Turbo with the X50 engine package. This car is stock except for a Sportec 100 Cell exhaust, a plenum and a K&N air filter (+StageII clutch).
I chose the less expensive flash for my configuration, but always wondered if I made the right choice. I had the opprotunity to acquire my second choice flash recently and had the car dynoed stock (with the above mentioned hardware), the first flash and then with my second choice flash.
The tests were done on an all wheel drive Mustang dyno with 91 octane and the results are pretty evident on the graph. The real world differences are even more dramatic in every day driving.
The moral of this story is sometimes you get what you pay for!

Some flashes are are more conservative... others even on 91 octane run high boost... etc...Is there a difference... yes of course... that is the reason We offer free tunes for a week...

Yes, the car does feel much faster and the thrust comes on earlier and harder. I really am impressed with the power delivery on this tune and am surprised at the numbers on a very conservative Mustang dyno on what is essentially a stock car.
This GIAC flash is running 1.1 boost on 91.
Calcareer,
Would you mind pm' ing me your vin so that we can check your original software file for you. Or if its easier, I see the OEM file run was done after you ran the FVD tune, just let me know the date and I can check our server. Out of curiosity was your GIAC file a custom file done on their dyno?
Thanks,
Rhonda

I'm impressed with 440 wheel horsepower on an X50 with stock tune, and just exhaust and plenum, on a Mustang dyno! I'd expect that on a Dynojet, but not a Mustang. I know that every dyno is different, but it appears this is a strong car with even a stock tune!
Beat me to it, are there any other X50 stock dyno charts around? Unless these are adjusted for drivetrain loss, porsche is being very conservative with the numbers.
I have done a lot of dyno testing through my build stages,,which I have posted along the way..
As I said above,,that is an impressive final TQ number especially on a AWD dyno with 91 octane.
Now looking your base stock tune it is impressive also.
Back at the beginning I had a GIAC 93octane tune from Andrew, with a Cargraphics exhaust, K+N filter and made near the same you did Without a tune on at CPT Tunings AWD dyno....And on a DynoJet rear wheel I made 505 hp and 515 TQ then..
You do have a strong runner..
