I put my car away for 5 week while on vacation and when I pulled it out for the first time I noticed the turbos sounded a lot louder than I remember. Im trying to figure out if it always sounded like this or if I have a leak or something? So anyone with a 1bar tune and exhaust bypass mod can you post a video of an acceleration run like mine so I can compare.

No its just a 1 bar tune. It just spiked to 1.3 for half a second when I let off the throttle in that vid. I have my wastegates pinched off in that vid which may have something to do with the spike. Im more interested in knowing if that turbo sound is normal with my mods.

OK thanks guys. I just didn't remember it being that loud. It must be my automotive paranoia kicking in. Especially after I youtubed 996 Turbo acceleration videos and the ones running 1bar I cant hear the turbos at all??? Examples...

 

I must have watched 25 videos on youtube last night and for the life of me cant find one that sound slike mine. In all of them you essentially cant even here the turbos. Im confused. Here is another example of another car where you do not hear the turbos like you do in mine...

 

Where are you? I'm sure someone is near that will let you compare in real life. Video sound sucks most of the time.

 

Ottawa Canada. LOL Not too many 911 Turbos running around in these parts. WOuld have better luck if I was in Toronto. I improved mt boost leak tester rig so I think I will spend part of the weekend testing again.

 

I have 100cel cat 3" exhaust & gt2rs intercoolers and I hear a little air. It doesn't sound like a windstorm like in your video though..

 

LOL Ya that's exactly what it sounds like. It sounds cool as hell and scares the crap out of people as I pass them but not convinced its normal. lol

I WISH it sounded like that, but mods that are SUPPOSED to make that noise are really expensive... hah

 

I don't have any codes. The only light on the dash is the PSM off light.
