The making of the HeadGames ported Porsche head...

HeadGames has been doing 996/997 heads for some time now, doing them for various shops. Now, they are available to everyone! Follow this thread and see the process and learn how a head is built!

Flow testing is a integral part of cylinder head development, because of time constraints. We do not flow every head that leaves the shop, but extensive testing is done to get the valve job and port shape right where we want it before moving forward. Here HeadGames shop manager Tiffani is flowing the stock intake port of our 996 head to get a baseline.

Stock 996/997 intake port

Roughing in the intake port, with a lot of room for improvement in this casting. Especially the intake side!

Stay tuned next week for more updates!

Not posting flow numbers, just the gains over the numbers we have. I had a hard time finding consistent numbers on the inter web with what we got, so just gonna stay out of that in effort to not confuse.

Thanks guys!

We designed our own bronze valve guides, and got word they shipped today. So, we will have to wait till Friday to do anymore.

We also got a limited quantity of guides made and will be having a holidays sale on them soon as we test fit and make sure they are good to go!

All flow bench #'s are different. 25 inch vs 28 inch vs wet or dry. air temp and humidity at time of test and on and on.. It would be nice to see your base and how you got them. Then to see finished product. I had stock head flowed and can try and find it if you like?
