Another run against a modded CTSV
I have 1000 crank and weigh 3035 lbs with 1/4 tank.
My car is 4.65 60-130 and will hit 300 kph from a dead stop in the
14 second range.
BTW, I love the Cadillac V. I've been def considering a 2012 coupe.
It's a drop dead sexy car with a fantastic engine. One of the best
bang for your buck cars on the planet.
This isn't ego on my part. It's just a poor comparison and not much of
an argument. People can race anything they want to but if you're going
to debate about it.........you need a more intelligent and appropriate premise.

Quarter mile times and traps?
The 911 and its various iterations are the most winning model of sport car over the last
50 years. A new Porsche turbo cost over 150k. That's more than double the cost of the
Cadillac. The cadillac weighs over 2 tons! This isn't even apples to oranges, this is
apples to hand-grenades lol.

It's what he has done.
Are you new to the European car scene? The Porsche Turbos are notorious in the car scene for big HP and TQ numbers with streetable and very often DD setups.
Btw what does your CTS V run?
Really dude? If I was trying to shadow that belief why would I have put stock displacement? I was putting the info out there that no.. he was not a stock motor car.. just with stock displacement.... I figured being a Porsche forum folks would be able to carry a decent conversation but nope... guess ill log off for another 2 years.

Dude take it easy we are just talking. No one is getting offensive. Thats why I and others put smiley faces after our comments to show our brevity via the internet. I honestly pondered on getting a CTS V instead of upgrading the 996. Both cars are great cars on the street and the track.
We are all car fans here and I am personally fans of all cars, American, European, Japanese…..
Not trying to throw fuel on the fire, but the parts available for the CTS-V make it a better quarter mile car right off the bat regardless of weight. A V has already gone 9.44 at 149 which is a quicker time than every other Porsche on this board other than a stripped out car in Dubai and Eddie Bello. No, I'm not a CTS-V fan. Too big, too heavy, and thirsty as hell. Randy, you might pull on that car from a roll but from a stop 1050 RWHP and 1100 RWTQ would be tough to beat.
996 on record. I have a few things to sort out with the car and I'll assure
you that the car will be under 4.5 seconds in a few weeks. There's a pretty
strict regimen as far as the authentication goes.
My buddy Chris Green just pulled of a 9.4 @ 156 1/4 and my cars every bit
as fast as his. Although I'm sure Chris is a much better Drag strip driver then
I am lol.
She''ll be hitting the strip in a few weeks and I'm hoping for mid 9s.....even
if I have to get a better drag strip guy.
And Porsches are not great drag cars! Not by a long shot but they are really good
road and street racers. This car would leave a 1000 hp CTS-V sitting still. It might
as well have the parking brake on. I mean come on dude, it's faster than a Veyron
Super Sport and it'll beat a Hayabusa from a dig to 200!

be experienced to be believed!

And check out Chris Greens 9.4s @ 156! In a 996TT

But yes, the Caddy is better set up for the 1/4. Hell, a Honda Civic is better
suited for the 1/4
You of all people should know what you have to do to get a 996 into the 9.5 range, not to mention the headaches. If you had put all your 996 money into a V I'm pretty sure it would be running mid 8's right now. But then you'd be driving a rough idling deafening family car with wrinkle walls, a full cage, and a trunk full of laughing gas. Not exactly as nice as having a fully streetable mid 9's car. I wish you luck at the track and hope you see 9's.
GUYS,,A lot of Bench Racing going on here..
Numbers and what others have done is not what was proven at a drag strip or on a street race from a dig..Not taking side or putting any one down..
I know many Hayabusas that would race you for any amount of money from a dig ,,have you actually raced one like you said you can beat? Riders skills also involved there..
Also the short time the Vs have been out ,compared to our cars , they are flying when built right and I only see more stuff coming out for them like our cars have progressed..
Those HP and Roll on races doesn't mean good guaranteed quarter mile times..
Just saying..
Sorry but this was not met to offend anyone, just stating facts about racing from a stand still,,,Its not as easy as most think and even harder on a high HP car.
Good Luck at the track..

be talking 9s lol. And the trick is not too much power

And for the money I've sunk in the ole Bama Slamer, I could have purchased
a new CTS-V and hired a Nascar engine builder to build a 1500 hp motor
with accompanying suspension, brakes and chasis reinforcement.
Unfortunately, I'm not kidding
I think the ProEfi is the game changer. Trust me, without the ProEfi, I wouldn't
be talking 9s lol. And the trick is not too much power

Yeah, it's been said here plenty of times, if all anyone cared about was the quarter everyone would be driving Fox bodies and running 8's for the price of a 996 transmission build.
