installing GT3 seats...

Hi...

I found this link to installing GT3 seats...It's in a Boxster, but I think it's pretty much the same.

Here's the Link: http://members.aol.com/ericbosco/gt3/page_01.htm

Question: After removing the wiring harness from your original seats, is there anything to reconnect to the GT3 seats???

Does anyone have the torque figures of the screws???

Some install tips courtesy of Viken...

1- Remove ignition key
2- Type and size of socket: E12 reverse torx
3- Modify the electrical harness plug for proper airbag light function (the only part retained is the square green plug and it must go back the same way)
4- Replace the seatbelt buckle on new seats

Kind of a stupid quesion but, how do you handle the seat belt light issue if you are going to go with a harness?

I would hook up the seat belt recepticle as normal, then puchase an extra seat belt clip to put into the recepticle to keep the light off when using the harnesses.

Yeah, the seat install looks rather simple. It's nice that the instructions give you a logical road to follow rather than wasting time guessing and experimenting. The roll bar will be another story. I will knock that off once the sports seats are out and prior to putting the GT3 seats in. Should be good use of most of the day...

The rollbar does looks a bit more complicated. I'm a bit worried after hearing comments like "the alignment of the mounting may be off"...humm, doesn't instill must confidence in this safety device I'm installing.

Sloth and Colorchange, You should be able to eliminate the seat belt light by just pushing in the OBC stalk. It will eventually go off after a few minutes other wise.

Oak:

I was thinking of pulling the front belts completely. Has anyone done this and how do you stop the alarm?

ColorChange,
Curious as to why would you want to eliminate the seat belts? I would think if you wanted to eliminate the seat belt alarm and lights, all that would be needed is to close the electrical loop or a a simple jump from the the wires to the belt clip receptical or seat belt.
