I'm looking at a 2003 996TT that is CPO'd until mid 2009. Do I need to be concerned with the fact that there have been 2 owners in such a short period of time (and miles)?

Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

it all depends. for example, i sold my 03 TT to a board member here with 4,300 miles he later sold it to another member with less than 7,000 miles. the car was still in perfect shape when it went to the 3rd owner. will u be able to find out more info on the car?

 

Naw dont worry about it. Ive had two porches in two years. They were both perfect cars. I just wanted something new after a year. Some people just like to change rides a little bit more often.
Just test drive the car or do a ppi.
Carfax will check for lemon or salvage issues (but is pretty useless for anything else).
Best thing to do is to develop a good relationship with the dealer/sales person.
About the mileage, the previous owners might not have had time to drive the car due to e.g a 7 day a week work schedule or he may have prefered to drive his other cars more. (I put about 2K on each car in one year.)

when i bought my car, carfax showed 3 owners after only 12k miles. it turned out that the original owner bought the car with his name, and later sold it to his trust, and then to his corporation (i think all for tax reason).

i would agree that carfax is good to check for salvage title, lemon, major damages and repair. but i would not be too concern about those mileage, owner issues, as long as the car checks out well.

 

Don't be concerned. The original owner of my '02 only put
91 miles on the car in 2 1/2 years. The car will be 3 years old and it currently has 700 miles on it. See if you can have a Porsche dealer run the vin for it's service history.
