996 Turbo vs 996 GT2 and Turbo S Valves per cylinder

Hello again. I have a question. I have a copy of "PORSCHE The Legend: 1948 to Today" by Giancarlo Reggiani. In the book it states that the standard 996 Turbo has 2 valves per cylinder and that the 996 GT2 and the 996 Turbo S of 2004-2005 have 4 valves per cylinder. Is this correct. The reason I ask is that the book has a few errors in specifications of the differing vehicles but the errors seem to be more wrong specs on wrong page as opposed to outright errors. Can anyone confirm the valve per cylinder question ? Much appreciated in advance.

2 valves per cyl? lol yeah no. The engine in the 996 Turbo, GT2 and Turbo S are exactly the same.

This is a 996 Turbo cyl head. 4 valves

996 Turbo S GT2 engine

Actually the book is excellent. I only found one real error. Swapping specs of Gen1 Gt3 and Gen2 GT3.

Don't knock it till you read it.

What about the engine error about the valves in 996?? Maybe Giancarlo Reggiani should write a book about Italian cars.

That's not correct, as we've already told you.
