Tips for 6 hour drive home
Before leaving Pittsburgh review google maps in search for some great twisties. The road a bit off the direct is the way to travel in a pcar. Looking a the google I'd try Saltsburg Road (Rt 380) to the Northeast of the City. The Ppike is just no fun, and getting home with a smile but 90 minutes later is better (IMHO).
Does the new ride have winter tires? According to NOAA the temps will be below 20 degrees, bad road surface temperatures for summer tires.

If you KNOW the rears need to be replaced - do it now, prior to your trip. Pay your dealer or lineup the install at a local Discount Tire or something just before you leave.
If the tires are visibly worn to the point of needing replacements - you may have even more wear (down to the cord) at the inside of the tire that you cannot see that easily.
Better safe than sorry - you are going to spend the money anyway...do it now.
There is alot of weight/grip at the rear - don't eff around with the bald tires
Just my 2 cents.

On Ebay and sellers site it was listed as a manual trans.
sounds like you have the basics covered. I hope your cruise control works. After picking up my car it took me 150 miles of messing with the cruise control stalk to figure out it was completely dead and inoperable.
Thus began the most tiring 1500 mile journey home. 1mm too much on the gas and i was doing 15mph over the limit... 1mm too little and I was getting passed by elderly people. May your fortune be better than mine!

OK so UPS royally screwed me, the bank over nighted the loan check on Monday, they told me that it would be guaranteed delivery for Tuesday so I went ahead and booked the flight for Wednesday. Guess what, check never showed up and the messed up thing is I called UPS multiple times yesterday and they assured me that it would be delivered. If I knew earlier in the day yesterday I would have figured out another solution, but since they guaranteed me delivery yesterday I believed them. So now I'm here at work, missed my flight, and super pissed. Second issue now is my plane ticket, I tried calling US Airways multiple times yesterday only to be disconnected after every attempt, then I emailed them and got an automated response saying someone will get back to me within a week. I was so excited to drive the car home today, now I'm thinking of just paying to have it shipped to me, especially with all this unpredictable snow were having it's impossible to set a day without the fear of bad weather messing up plans. What do you guys think I should do?
daedalus just reminded me something. If it is still your plan to pickup the car, make sure you have an owner's manual with you since you are not familar with the operation of the car. It may come in handy on your 400 mile drive.
