Cole.........I see it's your 1st post.....welcome.
This is the Turbo board so assume you are talking about the Turbo tip?
Not sure if this helps but I do recall Porsche AG worked with MB early on.....and I do believe the Turbo Tip transmission was essentually what was used in the 01-02 AMG E55.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that

Cole;

Porsche has no pride when it comes to automatics.

Attached to the finned transmission oil pan, you can clearly see tbe Mecedes Benz part tag (complete with three-point star)..

Regards

Thanks.

Sorry for the slow reply. I have not been autorized to post for the last couple of days. (account did not get verified or something). Does anyone know if it is a MB trans or is it actually made by ZF like the other Porsche autos. (and just happens to share the modle with MB)

Not sure if I'm understand your question correctly........but the Zuffenhausen plant has parts & assemblies coming in all day long from their primary suppliers.........this one comes from MB (and it only has a couple mile trip if I recall correctly)

ZF Industires. (incomplete 2003 list of ZF transmissions for North America)

Trying to find some cars with common transmissions. Or common parts. ZF makes many of the German car tranmissions for several manufacturers.

Wondering if anyone knew the "model number" of the one in the Turbo car.
