Clutch FiberTough Vivid - Instant grab, hardly any modulation and solid engagement

Friends,

You may have heard about my clutch problems and the way my wife drove my car ... However, after a lot a search, I need to make sure I will be doing the right thing ! My problem is Instant grab, hardly any modulation and solid engagement,no cushioning at all. On a dead stop, it is so hard to have a correct normal launch that 1 out of 5 times, I either stall or jerk the car at a red light !! No need to talk about if I am on a steep hill !!

So my plan is to remove the tranny and resurface the flywheel. Dan at Vivid sold me this clutch long time ago and at the time I bought it, I was convinced that it will feel and drive AS IF it was oem Turbo clutch. He sold me something called Clutchmaster Stage 3 Fibertough.

Now, the more I read, the more I think the CM3 is a Instant grab, hardly any modulation and solid engagement,no cushioning clutch. Is that true, anyone has that clutch.

I need to confirm it is the normal behavior of this clutch and not a flywheel problem or clutch problem, as the clutch has barely 500 miles on it when it started to act like that...

Car is 996TT k24/18G

Seems some have problems with this set up. That has not been my experience. I have the CM3 and a LWFW. At idle I can just slowly let out clutch in first and get underway. No grabbing, no jitters no drama.

Hey Alex ! How are you.. I do still own my 996 TT cab.. but I drove about 500 miles the last 4 years (coincidentally with the born of my kids) ... I am planning on driving more this year but I just hated my clutch that it takes away the pleasure of driving

And you, how are you ?

Bo
